Join Us – Together We Learn and Grow!

By becoming a Member of Shawnigan Lake Rotary EcoClub, you will have an exciting opportunity to help shape a new and different kind of club, devoted to environmental issues and caring for our outdoors. Together we will create the club culture of service and stewardship, build thriving relationships, examine community needs and priorities, grow our knowledge and set service goals. 

The Rotary Club of Shawnigan Lake EcoClub holds Zoom meetings on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, and face-to-face in a variety of settings and times, with interesting topics and interactive learning from each other and Guest Speakers. We will vary our meetups outdoors, including walk+talks, outdoor recreation, nature and lake-related activities & hands-on projects while still following all of the distancing and volunteer safety protocols. Our activities will be posted on our social media and our website calendar. We also coordinate a Spring “Clean Where You Are” event on Earth Day, April 22nd and distribute kits in advance. Our aim is to be able to include as many as possible. Get set for messy fun!

You’ll be part of a support network of over 1.2 million Rotarians – connecting people, transforming communities and finding solutions to the challenges we face today. Together we practice “Service Above Self”! Through Rotary you can build friendships through volunteer service, develop your leadership skills, and give back to your community. Through the Rotary Foundation and the End Polio vaccination program, we can even contribute to the life-saving and life-changing work happening around the globe! The Rotary monthly magazine .pdf will keep us in the loop as People of Action. Wherever we are, we operate by the 4-Way Test* and share our stories and ideas to make our efforts multiply! You can become a Member of our club by completing the Shawnigan Lake Rotary EcoClub Member Application Form. By submitting the completed form, you are stating your intention to become a member at the regular rate of $5/week, invoiced at $65 four times a year. This fee includes your annual obligation to our club and district, Rotary International and Rotary monthly digital magazine. We’ll have the opportunity to collaborate from time to time on larger projects and activities with our local community groups and/or the other Rotary clubs in the Cowichan Valley, at additional cost or with fundraising needed.
